In early November 2013, a new version of the bill “On Road Safety”, which amended foreign drivers carrying out labor activities in the Russian Federation, will enter into force. Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the official website told about this.
Following these amendments, the movement of foreign vehicles will be prohibited in Russia, the drivers of which do not have a Russian driver’s license. This, in particular, refers to persons engaged in labor and entrepreneurial activities related to the management of the vehicle, as well as to legal entities with foreign driver’s rights.
For violation of this amendment, a fine will be charged in the amount of 50 thousand rubles from the persons responsible for the operation of the vehicle, its technical condition allowing drivers who do not have a Russian national driver’s license.
Now the authorities are engaged in the study of the procedure for replacing foreign and international driver’s license with Russian -style driver’s licenses. Perhaps the persons of foreign states, to obtain Russian rights, will have to undergo a theoretical exam in traffic rules.
It is worth noting that such an amendment will not affect ordinary motorists with foreign rights entering the territory of the Russian Federation on their cars or the car used by the car rental service.
